    BTCC Empty BTCC

    Post by dr-baker Sun Sep 20, 2020 10:53 pm

Good news everyone! Jade Edwards will be competing in the next BTCC weekend at Silverstone, the first woman to do so since Finally Legate in an MG ZR in 2007!

Also ITV have extended their contract to show the BTCC by 5 years, to continue until 2026!

Fiona Leggate will be absolutely chuffed to bits at that spelling.

    I still can't believe she isn't Scottish.

So Jade Edwards and Nicolas Hamilton are the slowest of those who set a time in qualifying. So hopefully the weather will play havoc tomorrow to allow them to move up through the field...

Jade Edwards seems to have a personal rivalry with the ever-popular Andy Neate. Can't imagine them exchanging Christmas cards this year after today's races.

This weekend, we have Jessica Hawkins (W Series racer) in the Power Max Vauxhall Astra. You wait ages for another female racer, then you get several come along. And guess what? She's qualified one place ahead of Andy Neate... Expectations of fireworks between the two in the races tomorrow, just as there were between Neate and Edwards!

Looks like Jessica avoided any altercations and unwanted physical car contact with Andy Neate at the weekend. And she got three races finishes, which is nothing to be ashamed of. It was better than the brother of the F1 driver with the most wins ever...
