And we start the end of the year with a final kick in the bollocks - or somewhere equally sensitive if your name is Rachel and you have the other anatomy:

Sir Frank Williams is in hospital.

Nobody says what's wrong with him, other than the obvious for the last almost 35 years, but seeing as we all remember how he barely sounded like he was alive when he gave interviews in his 70s, I'm expecting that he won't be coming out except in a wooden box. I hope I'm wrong, but intuition says I'm not.

On the upside, Murray Walker is 97 and has survived this year so far...

    Well thank you

But I have to agree with you about this year. And let's hope Frank gets well soon

Finally there is some good news, this time regarding Alex Zanardi. Remember he ended up in a coma following a handbike crash earlier this year? Well, according to Forbes, he's making a recovery. Not 100% yet by any means, but he's getting there.

Hmmmm. Not exactly out of the woods yet, then. But from the description of what he can do, and from the cat that Sebastian Vettel accidentally let out of the bag (which may have just been a small kitten, but still), it sounds like he's still in better shape than Michael Schumacher.

True that he's not out of the woods yet, but it's still better than I dreaded and feared.

Sir Frank Williams has been discharged from hospital to continue his recovery at home.

That's certainly better to hear. Maybe Sir Frank has heard the news about his fellow-disabled former driver and wants to give him a run for his money in the recover stakes.

Things are looking up in the Team Enstone camp: Cyril Alottabull has walked the plank!

Meanwhile, prepare for a 2021 season almost as disrupted as the one that went before it. Prepare for the 2022, 2023 and 2024 seasons to be similar, at the very least.

There'd be more slots to fit the disrupted Grands Prix into if the organisers weren't insistent on handing one to every repressive authoritarian state there is.

Oh they hold that race every year. Kim Jon Un won the last 5 races for Rich Energy North Korean F1 team.

Did Kim Il-Sung win the 1992 race for the Andrea Moda Team of North Korea?

So what day are we on with the Lewis Hamilton contract business. I swear we are on day 10034.

I read somewhere that he won't sign unless Mercedes promise not to promote Russell to the team while he is driving for Mercedes. Apparently Mercedes are not impressed with this.

Tough one for Mercedes, do they lose their greatest asset at this time (aka sponsorship etc with LH) or do they sacrifice the driver who they know is the future of the team.

Personally I would call Hamilton's bluff.
